The steel structure bridge accounts for 41% in Japan and 33% in the United States, which shows that there is still a big gap between the market demand and industrial development of steel structure bridges in China and developed countries. Among the 101 super high-rise buildings that have been completed in the world, 16 are reinforced concrete structures, 59 are pure steel structures, and 27 are steel-concrete mixed structures of different forms; It can be seen that the development of steel structure will promote the rapid development of the construction industry, metallurgical industry, machinery industry, automobile industry, agriculture, petroleum industry, commerce and transportation industry.

In June 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission issued a notice on the "14th Five-Year Plan" new urbanization implementation plan and the implementation plan for carbon peaking in the field of urban and rural construction, which pointed out that vigorously develop prefabricated buildings, promote steel structure housing, and by 2030, prefabricated buildings will account for 40% of new urban buildings in that year. In the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Steel Structure Industry and the Long-term Goal for 2035", it is proposed that by the end of 2025, the national steel structure consumption will reach about 140 million tons, accounting for more than 15% of the national crude steel output, and the proportion of steel structure buildings in the new construction area will reach more than 15%. By 2035, the application of steel structure buildings in China will reach the level of moderately developed countries, the amount of steel structures will reach more than 200 million tons per year, accounting for more than 25% of crude steel output, and the proportion of steel structure buildings in the new construction area will gradually reach 40%, basically realizing the intelligent construction of steel structures.
